PR Web September 15, 2006 Parsippany, NJ – The Telecom Intelligence Group today announced it will host a new webcast on “The Financial Impact of Managed Services on Service Providers”, as part of its Fall Webcast Series. The webcast, sponsored by Lucent Technologies and TelecomWeb, will be presented on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. EST, at www.telecomweb.com.

The webcast will feature a panel of experts from the telecommunications industry and from the industry analyst community.  The experts will conduct a roundtable discussion on the key issues in managed services that service providers should address for optimizing their operational strategies in a rapidly changing industry.

Panelists include:

* Wu Zhou, Senior Research Analyst, IDC's Network Life-Cycle Services;

* Andy Rabhan, Vice-President, Managed Services, Lucent Worldwide Services; and

* Ken Dolsky, Director of Professional Services, InfoTech: The Telecom Intelligence Group

Topics to be covered during the webcast include:

1) The growing importance of managed services strategies in the service provider and operator community;

2) Major trends driving the adoption of managed services, and the opportunity for carriers and service providers to achieve competitive differentiation in the market via these services;

3) Opportunities to generate new revenue with managed services, and key success factors and barriers to maximizing the revenue generation potential of managed services;

4) Independent industry perspectives on reducing CAPEX and OPEX via managed services; and

5) The role managed services is playing in redefining market valuation of service provider and/or operator businesses.

“The service provider community is at an important juncture,” says Mike O’Neill, Vice President and Group Publisher of TelecomWeb, the media sponsor of this event. “Business models that were relevant a few short years ago are now completely out of date.  The industry is re-examining what exactly represents a core activity in the global service provider and operator space.  Companies that effectively reallocate and re-prioritize their business strategies will emerge as the real winners in this market by the end of the decade.  This panel of experts will shed an important light on the key success factors that will define this global industry in the next few years,” comments O’Neill.
