Parsippany, NJ December 4, 2007 – According to a new report from The Telecom Intelligence Group “InfoTrack for Converged Applications – First Half 2007 Global Contact Center Report,” growth in contact center shipments for the CALA region were up over 30 percent versus the first half of 2006, representing the fastest-growing world region in an otherwise flat market worldwide for contact centers.

Avaya virtually doubled its shipment rate in CALA, while Siemens, Genesys, Cisco, Aspect and Alcatel all grew their shipments in the region.

Despite the slow growth of the overall market, Avaya, Cisco and Nortel increased their global market leadership and grew market share in the first half of 2007, versus the first half of 2006. Their combined market share constituted over 60 percent of the global market for contact centers.

According to Ken Dolsky, ICA Program Director, “While global shipments exceeded 1 million new agents, the rate of growth was flat to downward for most regions except CALA. The increase in combined market share exhibited by the top three manufacturers indicates they have increased their win ratios in competitive sales situations.”
